How They’re Made

DoggieBeerBones are hand-made with spent brewing grain, peanut butter, barley flour, eggs, and water. They do NOT contain any wheat, soy, corn, additives or preservatives, but please treat responsibly and consult your veterinarian to find out if your dog has any allergies to these ingredients.

The different colored bones come from the all-natural grain and are dependent on the type of beer style that was brewed. For example, a Stout beer will have a much darker grain bill and thus a dark, hearty treat.

The Process
The brewing process begins by “mashing” malted barley in warm water for about an hour. During this time, the starch in the barley is converted to fermentable sugars. Next, the fermentable sugars are separated from the barley (now “spent grain”) and are drained into the boil kettle to eventually become beer. At this point, the leftover spent grain is ready to become a batch of DoggieBeerBones!

DoggieBeerBones contain no alcohol or hops and are baked in a food grade commercial kitchen in silicone molds. Longer bake times are used to ensure the treats contain low moisture.
